Sydney Harbour Bridge
Sydney Harbour BridgeJust like the accompanying photo of the opera House, i took this on a short visit to Sydney before boarding a cruise ship bound for New Zealand. Another over photographed venue, but Sydney has a magic about it that is hard to resist. Long exposure and two blended images in Photoshop to get the Luna Park face exposed correctly in the image.
Sydney Opera House
Sydney Opera HouseTaken just before my wife and I boarded a cruise. Sydney was kind enough to put on some fireworks, just to add something a little novel to an over photographed icon. Still pretty...
The Light of Saint Vincent
The Light of Saint VincentI was in Adelaide for just one night, and took the one and a half hour drive south to a place that sounded interesting: Second Valley. I spent three hours there, wandering along the shore and watching the sun set, climbing rocks and listening to the gentle lapping of the water. This was my next-to-last photograph that night. But it captured the place so well, that it was immediately my favourite. Processing in Capture One Pro only involved subtle adjustments, which just emphasises how ethereal the scene really was. Magical.

Burning Sky
Burning SkyA dark sky smothers the rising sun. A seagull heads west.
Eagle's Nest
Eagle's NestAn emerald green ocean curls around a sandstone rock at the edge of Bass Strait. The light was mediocre, but that is always a challenge. What can I do when the light is dull? This capture was carefully worked on post to turn a dull grey image into something with colour and life. But all the information was there...no colour was added, just drawn out of the raw file.
The Hidden Path to Black Eagle Rock
The Hidden Path to Black Eagle RockLook carefully and you'll see the eagle in the rock. These 'steps' are mostly hidden by the water, but emerge at low tide. The light was poor when I took this, so I worked the photo in Capture One to bring out the colour that I saw but that the RAW photo kept hidden.
